About the Global Women in Leadership Alliance™

Leadership is often portrayed as visible, celebrated, and supported.
In reality, for many women, leadership is quiet, demanding, and built behind the scenes—often without recognition.

The Global Women in Leadership Alliance™ was created in response to that reality.

Our Story: A Leadership Journey Rooted in Experience

The Alliance was founded by Lucy Jeffrey, B.Ed, a global leadership advocate whose professional and personal journey reflects the many faces of women’s leadership.

Across multiple sectors and life stages, Lucy’s leadership has been tested—and proven:

  • As a senior banking executive, leading an entire department of 161 employees with full profit-and-loss responsibility

  • As an educator, shaping young minds and managing complex classroom leadership

  • As a business leader, supporting and sustaining the private-sector business community, including through the unprecedented challenges of the pandemic

  • As a television host and producer, leading and presenting a business segment on Canadian television

  • As a single mother, raising a son while carrying the full weight of responsibility—affirming that leadership also lives powerfully within the home

Each chapter reinforced one truth: women lead everywhere, often without applause.

The Evolution of a Movement

Lucy’s commitment to women’s leadership began intentionally over eight years ago.

  • Over 50 Women Leadership Network – a grassroots Facebook-based initiative created when Lucy turned 50, recognizing the leadership wisdom of women often overlooked

  • Women in Leadership Canada – an expanded national platform acknowledging women across industries and stages

  • Global Women in Leadership Alliance™ (2025) – a bold evolution recognizing that leadership knows no borders

Leadership is not uniquely Canadian.
Every woman, in every country, deserves support, visibility, and elevation.

Why the Alliance Exists

The Global Women in Leadership Alliance™ exists to correct a long-standing imbalance:

Women are leading.
Women are building.
Women are achieving extraordinary results.

Yet their accomplishments—particularly in the private sector—are too often ignored, undocumented, or undervalued.

This Alliance was created to change that.

It is not a business networking group.
It is a leadership and visibility platform—designed to elevate women intentionally and unapologetically.

Building Together, Not Alone

One of the most powerful lessons behind this Alliance is simple:

Women are not meant to build alone. We are meant to build together.

Through global licensees and partners, the Alliance has already demonstrated what collective leadership can achieve. In a single week, over 200 women from around the world were invited to a virtual summit—women seeking growth, mentorship, leadership development, and meaningful connection.

This momentum is only the beginning.
